Yum is currently a demo build — orders placed without Stripe keys configured take no real payment. This document is a realistic starting point, not a substitute for legal advice — have it reviewed by a lawyer before taking real orders or payments.
Yum is an online platform that lets you order food from local restaurants in Jersey for delivery. We are a marketplace connecting you with independent restaurants — each restaurant is responsible for preparing and fulfilling its own orders; Yum handles ordering, payment, and delivery tracking.
You can order as a guest or create an account. If you create an account, you’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. A delivery fee is shown separately from the food subtotal before you pay. All prices are in pounds sterling (£).
Delivery time estimates are just that — estimates — and can vary with weather, traffic, and how busy a restaurant is. You’re responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and being available to receive your order.
You can cancel an order for a full refund only before the restaurant has accepted it. Once accepted, cancellations are at the restaurant’s discretion. The restaurant that prepared your order is responsible for resolving problems with it — wrong, missing, or poor-quality food, and any resulting refund — since they are the party who prepared and fulfilled it. You can report this through your order confirmation page or by contacting the restaurant directly; see our Support page for the full split.
You must be 18 or over to place an order on Yum. Some items (e.g. alcohol) may have additional age restrictions enforced at the point of delivery.
Restaurants using Yum to manage their own listing and orders are responsible for keeping their menu, prices, and hours accurate, and for fulfilling accepted orders. Yum charges restaurants a commission on the food subtotal only — no monthly listing fee and no markup on menu prices.
Yum provides the ordering platform. It is not the restaurant, and it does not supply the food. To be clear about who is responsible for what:
To the extent permitted by law, Yum is not liable for the quality, safety, preparation, or delivery of food — that responsibility sits with the restaurant — unless Yum itself later operates its own delivery service, in which case this section will be updated accordingly. We remain committed to passing on and helping resolve issues with your order, even though the restaurant decides the outcome.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
These terms are governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands.
